The Aare Gorge, located between Meiringen and Innertkirchen, is an impressive natural wonder. This 1.4 kilometre long and up to 200 metre deep gorge was formed over thousands of years by the Aare glacier. As you walk through the gorge, you can feel the relentless force of the icy glacier water forcing its way through the narrow gorge, while towering rock faces rise to dizzying heights above you. The mystical evening lighting on Fridays and Saturdays in July and August lends the gorge a special atmosphere. For families, the popular 'Pasta Fun' menu rounds off the visit.
